East Lochhead farmhouse and stone outbuildings have been carefully restored to high quality, award winning accommodation. The peace and tranquility of this rural situation with beautiful views over the Barr Loch make it difficult to believe that Glasgow Airport is only 15 minutes away and Glasgow City and largs less than 20. It is an ideal centre from which to explore Burns country, savour Loch lomond, the Trossachs, play golf on one of the 30 or more courses within easy driving distance, or enjoy sailing in the Clyde Estuary and to the islands beyond, as well as many other activities.
The property is set within 25 acres of farmland. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the 2 acres of beautiful gardens and use the adjacent cycle track to walk safely, to the village or farther afield.
Ample car parking space is available.
Janet is a qualified Chef, has trained with Nick Nairn and undertaken a variety of training courses such as Natural Cook of Scotland. She is Taste of Scotland accredited.
Only the best fresh produce is good enough for Janet and you will rarely sample better home-cooked, straighforward Scottish produce.
Vegetarian and Vegan diets are well catered for with three vegetarian daughters she has daily practice in preparing tasty dishes for them.
Ross and Janet enjoy gardening and to date they have rescued a wilderness and within an existing tree and shrub framework, added a pond, and adorned all the buildings with climbers and creepers. Trees and bushes have been planted as well as a significant number of rasberries, gooseberries and blackcurrants which all find their way onto home made preserves and puddings.
