Welcome to Ballimore
Ballimore was newly built in 2003 to be as eco-friendly as possible with a wind turbine, reedbed and solar fans. It has underfloor heating and all water comes from its own hill and it is very spring water. Stylishly decorated the house sleeps 8 to 9 for self catering or bed & breakfast - why not try our special healthy refreshing short breaks.
Ben Cruachan, one of the Scottish Munro`s is just less than 3700ft and provides the backdrop to the whole Ballimore Estate.
Perfect for walking holidays.
Ballimore means `big settlement` in Gaelic language and the land including Loch Tromlee is the seat of the MacCorquodale clan.
The ruins of the clan`s castle remain on the island of the Loch.
Ballimore makes an ideal base for fishing in its own Loch Tromlee which is ideal for pike fishing.
The house is also only a few minutes from Loch Awe.
The Cottage at Ballimore
The cottage at Ballimore was built at the same time as the main house. It is a comfortable, one double bedroom cottage, fitted out to high specification.
This self catering cottage is perfect for couples of all ages to enjoy the peaceful tranquility within this beautiful remote place, with nearby Loch tromlee for pike fishing and close to Loch Awe.
The cottage is available to let either on its own or together with the main house.
