Steeped in history this unique and historic Scottish Castle, filled with treasures, its estates and Gardens is one of the principal visitor attractions in South Scotland, offering Castle tours, guided walks and the best sports opportunities in South Scotland
Gardens
The ongoing project to maintain and restore the Victorian gardens, transforming them to their former glory is now well in hand. Much work has been carried out in the gardens over recent years to ensure a splendid vista for visitors to the gardens and Estate in general
Country Park
The Country Park provides visitors an opportunity to enjoy the Buccleuch Countryside directly surrounding Drumlanrig Castle. Waymarked Walks, Cycle Routes and a Visitor Centre are provided for visitor enjoyment by the Ranger Service which operates from the Stable Yard adjacent to the Castle. The farmland, Woodlands, Lochs and River around the Castle provide suitable habitats for a wide variety of wildlife. Red squirrels are abundant, otters regularly use the rivers and lochs to feed and a walk or cycle through the woods will highlight the varied birdlife to be found here.
