Roving Eye Boat Tours

History and The Natural World
We are entering our eleventh year in the under water tours of Scap Flow. Last year we upgraded our Hybail ROV to a Sea Eye Falcon as well as adding a 32 inch LCD monitor for viewing. The combination has improved the underwater real time footage, which was excellent, to absolutely awesome. The more powerful ROV covers more ground and and at the same time is a steadier platform to view the perfect images of the old historic wrecks of the Kaiser`s High Seas Fleet. We can get up close to the marine life, which sometimes includes the occasional diver, with the crisp clarity of the high resolution onboard camera.

Ring of Brodgar

The Ring of Brodgar is a Neolithic henge and stone circle in Orkney, Scotland. The ring of stones stands on a small isthmus between Lochs of Stenness and Harray. The centre of the circle has never been excavated by archaeologists and scientifically dated, the monument`s age remains uncertain. However, it is generally thought to have been erected between 2500 BC and 200 BC, and was, therefore, the last of the great Neolithic monuments built on the Ness.

Highland Park Distillery

Orkney is abundantly rich in heritage; the Islands have been inhabited for over 5,500 years and each successive culture has added to the legacy of Orkney

The Orcadians are justifiably proud of their history, dialect and traditions; traditions which, since 1798, include Highland Park single malt Scotch whisky. Highland Park is happy to reciprocate; we are proud of our Orcadian roots.

St Magnus Cathedral

St Magnus Cathedral dominates the skyline of Kirkwall, the main town of Orkney, a group of islands off the north coast of mainland Scotland. It is the most northerly cathedral in the British Isles, a fine example of Norman architecture built for the bishops in Orkney when the islands were ruled by the Norse Earls of Orkney.

It is owned not by the church but by the burgh of Kirkwall as a result of of an act of King James III of Scotland following Orkney`s annexation by the Scottish Crown in 1468. It has its own dungeon.
