Isle of Arran Heritage Museum

The Isle of Arran Heritage Museum, founded in 1976(open to the public in 1979) is on the main road, at Rosaburn, just north of Brodick, on the beautiful Island of Arran, Scotland. Originally the site of a small school, the present group of buildings were a croft and smiddy, and include  a farmhouse, cottage, bothy, milk house, laundry, stable, coach house and harness room. The exhibits reflect the social history, archaeology and geology of the island.

Greenknowe Tower

Greenknowe Tower is a 16th century tower house, located just west of the village of Gordon, in the Scottish Borders. Although a roofless ruin, the stonework of the tower is well preserved, and represents a fine example of a later tower house, built more as a home than as a place of defence. The building is located at NT639428, beside the A6105 road. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, and is in the care of Historic Scotland

Dirleton Castle

Dirleton Castle is a medieval fortress in the village of Dirleton, East Lothian, Scotland. It lies around 2 miles (3.2 km) west of North Berwick, and around 19 miles (31 km) east of Edinburgh. The oldest parts of the castle date to the 13th century, and it was abandoned by the end of the 17th century.

The Italian Chapel

The Italian Chapel on Lamb Holm in Orkney was built by Italian prisoners of war captured in Africa during World War II. The prisoners were stationed on the island between 1942 and 1945 to help in construction of the Churchill Barriers at Scap Flow.

Stac Pollaidh

Stac Pollaidh is a mountain in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland. The peak displays a rocky crest of Torridonian sandstone, with many pinnacles and steep gullies. The crest is extremely weathered (more so than other Torridonian peaks), suggesting that it was not covered in ice during the last Ice Age
