The islands of The Inner Hebrides - notably, Mull, Iona, Jura, Islay, Tiree, Colonsay and Barra, can easily be reached by ferry from Oban and boat trips are also available from the marina at Craobh Haven.
As well as the busy berth marina and chandlery the village also boasts a well stocked store and the local pub/restaurant - `The Lord of The Isles`, producing excellent and bar meals for all the family.
The Cottage
Living Room - Comprising two double sofa, remote control widescreen TV with sky family package included, DVD player, CD player with radio and selection of games, books and maps.
Dining Room - Part of the living room with full dining table and chairs for 6 people to enjoy great nights in looking through the patio doors to the patio area, marina and sea views beyond to the islands.
Kitchen - Separate kitchen overlooking the front garden. Fridge/freezer, microwave oven, automatic washing machine and dryer, electric oven and hob, kettle, toaster and various crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and cooking utensils.
Bedroom 1 - Overlooking the front of the property comprising a double bed and large full length built in wardrobe.
Bedroom 2 - Overlooking marina and with sea views this versatile room comprises a double bed with a single bunk bed above effectively sleeping two adults and one child or up to 3 children or just 2 adults. Thsi room also comprises a large full length built in wardrobe and a wash hand basin.
Also to keep the children ( or grown ups) amused in an evening or it it rains there is a playstation 2 and a flat screen tv. Probably best to take your own games although we have provided one or two.
Activities
This part of Scotland has plenty of ruined aand habited castles and many sites pf architectural and historical interest to visit. Kilmartin house, just south from the cottage, houses an archaeology centre.
Oban is about 18 miles North of Craobh Haven and has most of the ferry routes and daily boats trips to the Isles.
Mull, which has many popular tourist attractions - Miniature steam railway, distillery, Tobermory and more, can easily be explored within a day from the cottage by taking the ferry from Oban, as can Iona and Jura.
Argyll is renowned for its many fine gardens such as Crarae Garden, and just 5 mins from the cottage on the way to Oban is Arduaine Gardens.
Within a short drive there are many more places of interest including Loch Awe, Oban Marine, Seal Centre, Rare Breeds Farm, Inverary Jail, Inverary Castle, Argyll Wildlife Park, Auchindrain Township Museum.
There is good fishing available around the coast in nearby lochs and rivers. Boat trips can be organised to the `Corrievreckan` - the largest whirlpool in Europe and to the surrounding islands where seals, otters and possibly corncrakes can be seen.
Mountain bike trails, Waterpsorts, Horse riding and Golf are all at hand.
For horse enthusiasts there is a BHS approved Ardfern Riding Centre offering Trekking, Western Riding and Hacking on Apaloosa horses. Organised boat trips are available on the motor launch Farsain from the Marina.
There are many spectacular walks from the doorstep of the cottage and it is also possible to walk to the village of Ardfern which boasts the popular pub `The Galley of Lorne`, a yachting marina and `The Crafty Kitchen Cafe`.
